A Low-Key, Romantic and Dreamy L’Abattoir Wedding
When Allison and Jordon first reached out, they already knew what they had envisioned for their day. Their key words were “Low-key, romantic and dreamy” and L’Abattoir offered all of those things for their wedding
We loved it.
Don’t get us wrong, we love large and grand weddings as well, but something about small, intimate weddings really give David and me a chance to slow down and get creative.
Small, intimate weddings, have less events through out the day, which means the couple gets to really enjoy each moment instead of following a tight schedule.
This was the case for Allison and Jordon and it was absolutely perfect.
From Seattle to Vancouver
Although they are based in Seattle, many of their family and friends are in Vancouver, and so it is special place for them.
Planning a wedding when you live in a different city is no easy task so we wanted to be as helpful as possible when helping A&S put together their timeline.
A first look and getting ready location close to the venue was a must for their day. Using a handy website called giggster, we found the perfect studio just around the corner from L’Abattoir, which satisfied all those requirements.
Our day started off at the studio with Allison getting changed. Jordon waited patiently in the hallway for his sneak peek at his bride-to-be.
After their first look, we made use of the studio space with the rest of the wedding party before heading to L’Abattoir for the Wedding Ceremony. With less than 30 people on their guest list, it was the perfect venue.
Wedding Ceremony at L’Abattoir
They said their vows, (and I definitely cried). At this point, I’ve accepted that I’m a crier.
Their I Do’s were followed by their group photos in the courtyard outside of L’Abattoir, and since they had a small guest list, this flew by in no time. As L’Abattoir flipped the room for their reception, the guests made their way over to a nearby restaurant for cocktails, while we headed over to a beautiful rooftop to continue some portraits!
Gastown Wedding Portraits
This is always our favourite time, and as usual, we had a ton of fun. We wrapped up the portrait session just in time to walk back over to the venue for them to make their grand entrance.
L’Abattoir Wedding Reception
We stayed just long enough to capture their first dance and their thank you speech before we parted ways. Allison and Jordon, thank you so much again for trusting us to capture your incredible day.
It truly was low key, romantic and dreamy, and we hope it was everything you imagined.
